Vintage painting of mother bird feeding chicks in their nest amongst the reeds, by Gloria ("Gigi") Gallant (nee Simpson, 1927-2009).

Gallant was born in Miami, FL and received her BFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She worked as a professional artist in FL, then CA, before finally residing in Pason, Arizona. Given the framing by Decorative Arts in Illinois, I surmise this piece may have been from early in her career before she returned to Florida.

According to her granddaughter, Kimmy, "her paint preference became acrylic, as it was easier to clean up and could be manipulated with water/dilutants to achieve a water-color result, if she desired that effect." This appears to be one such example of her acrylic paintings.

In original wood frame and ready to hang.
